The beginning of April’s self-directed children's book, designed to help young readers understand the complex emotions surrounding the loss of a loved one.
Drawing from her experience of losing her father at the age of fifteen, April both writes and illustrates with the goal of providing comfort and insight to children facing similar challenges.
Children’s book about grieving
In Progress Written and Illustrated Children’s Book by April Finfrock
This heartfelt children's book tells the story of a young frog navigating the loss of their father. Through the eyes of the young frog, readers experience the personal journey of grief, while also witnessing how both the mother and grandmother cope with their own emotions.
The story highlights that grief can be processed in many different ways, but the most important message is the enduring love that remains, even in difficult times.
Character designs for the frog family, as well as, possible expressions and hand gestures for an easier illustrating process.
